~~ The Matmos album is pretty incredible, seamlessly moves between alien jazz, hard hitting techno, eerie ambience, glitch, musique concrete, and other various styles. Hell, sometimes it feels like a freakin' drum circle. 38 minutes, but feels so much longer. Beautiful concept which doesn't get in the way of enjoying the music, it's so novel and original but you forget about the concept while listening.
It's so dense, rich and consistently surprising. Bold, exciting, and feels totally Matmos. They work so well when they confine themselves to a concept or an idea, because then they have to get super creative. It's an immensely impressive piece of work, and might be my favourite album of theirs so far, even though I've enjoyed all of their albums so far, and in the case of Supreme Balloon and A Chance to Cut is a Chance to Cure, I've loved them.
This is one of a kind though, and even while it might be light on melody, it's heavy on incredible sound design, intricate rhythms, and an infectious sense of fun.

"loved list" ^^
I know them as one of the bland but well meaning Australian rock bands which get spins on the Australian alternative radio station.
this is a pretty cool track, it's off one of their EPs
