  • sung tongs is very bad
  • it always blows my mind madvillainy and mm food in the same year
  • Sing Tongs is very good
  • So is Satanic Panic in the Attic for anyone who hasn't listened
  • Yeah it's probably their 2nd best record.
  • still never listened to an of Montreal album. maybe I'll try once everyone on the forum listens to Nails
  • hissing fauna is one of the greatest albums ever in my eyes. potentially the best break-up record? it's a treat every time i spin it
  • does it have kickass breakdowns?

    thought not
  • Hissing Fauna is my favorite album
  • do they sing about unsilent death and abandoning all life and how you will never be one of us?
  • Yea actually like no joke
  • Maybe not the first one
  • i will not follow

This is easily their best song outside of Hissing Fauna, as much as I like a lot of the Cherry Peel and Gay Parade stuff.

It does a lot of things and goes a lot of places.
  • Aaaaand now I feel like an idiot for ignoring this album all of these years.
  • We should restart this
  • This album melds tech death and melo death in such a masterful way, it's amazing

I have some possibly controversial, underrated albums I love from 2004, I'll start working on my list :D
  • I also find it funny that Kyle titled this thread in reference to me disliking Sung Tongs, because I recently turned around on that album.

i didn't even post a list for this one.

this is one of the first years that I remember "paying attention" to music.
I became aware of AnCo and Madvillain (though I didn't listen to them) and I was really into Boards of Canada. I don't reeeaaally remember anticipating records yet though. 2005 was the first year that a number of anticipated records came out for me,
BoC, Autechre, Gorillaz, The Books, etc.

actually that's something novel and fun, when we get to 2006 I can actually start going back and comparing my top 10's made in that year at that time against what I feel now.
