Awwww shit! I might wait to see the movie first. I’m pumped to listen to it for sure. I’ve only listened to the Black Panther soundtrack before seeing the film because it’s songs.

Yeah I never listen to scores before seeing the film, I consider that tantamount to spoilers. Soundtracks are a little different I suppose (also I still haven’t listened to the Black Panther album but only 3 of its songs actually show up in the film—the SZA track, the Weeknd track, and the Vince track)

Is that MGMT album really that good, I have never been able to get on board. I’ve listened to Oracular and Congrats and was bored to tears

it's their best for sure, but if nothing on those two did anything you might just not like them. which is fine. i think it's wonderful synth pop, though. sweet production, great melodies, catchy lyrics, general throwback feel while still being fresh

@Robby I get you. Sometimes it's hard for me to compare, while other times it makes sense. With Badalamenti's scores for Twin Peaks, it seems like an easy fit to compare the OSTs to non-film/tv-related albums. I don't know why. (Which is why his score for the new Twin Peaks was my AOTY.)

I'm sure you've heard some of them Alela Diane's Cusp is great, Brandi Carlile's latest is pretty good, Park Jiha's Communion but it's really as much an ambient album as a folk one, and the Soccer Mommy is more singer/songwriter style but I love it.
