I've gone back to Illmatic a couple times... I have no pedestal for it.

If I can only pick 1 artist's album...

    1. Beastie Boys - Paul's Boutique (even though Ill Communication is their best but it's the less-than-hiphop joints that elevate it)
    2. Ice-T - O.G. Original Gangster
    3. Public Enemy - Fear of a Black Planet
    4. Snoop Doggy Dogg - Doggystyle
    5. Dr. Dre - 2001
    6. Outkast - Stankonia (even though The Love Below is my fave, but it's really hard to call that hip hop)
    7. Ice Cube - Amerikkka's Most Wanted (Bomb Squad!)
    8. Digital Underground - Sex Packets
    9. L.L. Cool J - Walking with a Panther
    10. Atmosphere - When Life Gives You Lemons

Honorable Mention: Kate Tempest - Everybody Down

Man.. I totally come from a different era.. :p

  • @Cordell I'm listening to American Wrestlers right now and is everyone sure this isn't the dude from Phoenix?
  • @ttk yo Nick I need you to confirm I'm not crazy.
  • this band sounds like Thomas Mars' fooling around with Dan Boeckner's drum machine with Jay Reatard producing.

I like it a lot. This should have got more hype.
  • the dude from Phoenix is less nasally and a little more emotive (imo)

but that track ain't bad at all.
  • the question we've all been asking: where is weezy's top 10 hip hop list
