I got a sixty-nine Chevy with a 396
Fuelie heads and a Hurst on the floor
She's waiting tonight down in the parking lot
Outside the Seven-Eleven store
Me and my partner Sonny built her straight out of scratch
And he rides with me from town to town
We only run for the money got no strings attached
We shut 'em up and then we shut 'em down

Tonight, tonight the strip's just right
I wanna blow 'em off in my first heat
Summer's here and the time is right
For goin' racin' in the street

  • this thread will be a wasteland of broken angels with no where to go and all you got is your girl and your car and your jacket.

this thread is where you talk about your job in the form of bruce lyrics
  • Working all day in my daddy's garage
Driving all night chasing some mirage
Pretty soon little girl I'm gonna take charge

The dogs on Main Street howl 'cause they understand

If I could take one moment into my hands
    Mister I ain't a boy, no I'm a man
And I believe in a promised land

  • Hey Evan
  • hey pal welcome to the bruce springsteen thread.

yeah fuck ur jersey shit talking i was born in the passenger seat of a garbage truck on the new jersey speedway. the album version of jungleland was playing on the radio and the streets were on fire. we stopped at a gas station and cut the umbilical chord with a switch blade. they called me tony the tiger and i ran away from home and was raised by the magic rats and joined the army when i turned 18

this has been the only things ive listened to since this thread was created. what a sad song and what a tragic conclusion to such a powerful record about working and letting off steam and the tragedy of the workingman. he literally goes from an impassioned working man to a homeless man throughout the record. its like watching someone fall from grace gracefully.

  • you hipsters dont know what its like to be bruce springsteen
  • #checkyourprivilege
  • What the fuck is going on? Did KTT take over? Why are there skeletons? I'm so alone.
  • i could do aliens if you want
  • Born to Run, Nebraska, and Darkness On The Edge of Town are all great.

The ghost of tom joad and and the wild, the innocent and the e street shuffle also.
  • i heard an interview with terry gross and bruce on NPR. man that was a sad interview, old rockstars are tragic cases cuz they can't seem let go of the idea that they'll change the world someday.

  • best brucie video :D
